FAQ

  • What vaccines are required for you to work with my animals?

We require dogs, cats and ferrets to be vaccinated for rabies; other than that, because we are coming to you, no other vaccines are required at this time.

  • Do you offer pet-sitting services over the holidays?

We offer pet-sitting over all major holidays! But please note-major holidays book quickly. It is best to schedule your trips with us well in advance.

  • What happens at the complimentary meet and greet?

Before starting training or pet-sitting, we will always schedule a complimentary meet and greet. For dog training,we will review the issues at hand, your normal routine, and discuss what goals we hope to accomplish during training.

For pet-sitting, we go through a checklist that includes: food&water instructions, extra food locations, medical concerns, toys, where to put scooped litter or poop bags, instructions for mail and/or watering of any plants, and most importantly, your pets routines.

  • Are you able to administer medications to my pet?

Absolutely. With over a decade in the animal medical field, we are comfortable administering pills, transdermal ointments, eye/ear drops, or SQ injections that have been prescribed by your veterinarian.

If your pet requires multiple medications or is VERY anxious about being medicated, a nominal fee may be required for the service; but this will be discussed in detail at the scheduled meet & greet.

  • What are your accepted payment methods?

We gladly accept all credit cards, cash and checks.

All payments will be subject to sales tax.

  • What type of business is this?

Hudson Highlands Mobile Pet Services is a fully licensed business in the state of NY, and we are insured!

  • How should I prepare for my grooming appointment?

If you have a very excitable pup, we recommend excercising him or her before your appointment. If they are very nervous for groomings, it may be worth discussing medication or supplement options with your veterinarian prior to our session.

Cats are very skilled at finding inconvenient nooks and crannies to hide when they sense someone is there to trim their nails! We recommend confining them to a bathroom or small room prior to our visit.

  • Do you offer (insert pet care service)?

Probably! With over a decade in the animal medical field, we are experienced at handling your pet for a variety of services; please feel free to reach out if you do not see a service listed on the website, but are interested in it for your pet; if we don’t offer it ourselves, we likely have another local company in mind that does, and would be happy to refer you to them.
